 The Lord is…a Provider, a Way-Maker, a Restorer, the Savior, a Shield and Buckler, Faithful, The Way, The Truth and The Life, the Word, Author and Finisher of our Faith, High Priest, the Resurrection and the Life, a Teacher, our Advocate, Lamb of God, a Redeemer, everlasting Father, the Good Shepherd, a Faithful and True Witness, Alpha and Omega, the Prince of Peace, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, …all that and more.

      When we think of the goodness of Jesus, and all that He’s done for us, surely we can say the Lord is… our all and all.  He truly is our Shepherd.  Poetic Psalm is a gentle, yet compelling composition that is guaranteed to draw any reader closer to the heart of God.  It’s about personal choice and commitment. Through poetic prayer, praise and worship, you will be moved from the outer court, through the inner courts and straight to the Holy of Hollies, the throne room of God.  It is in the throne room that we find the heart of God.

      Ms. Jourdan emphatically reminds us that everyone comes to a point in life when nothing else matters but God. She’s chosen to respect and honor her monogamous covenant relationship with God.  She challenges us all to walk in the fullness of that kind of relationship by asking the riveting question, have you come to that point, yet?   Having this oneness relationship is a choice we must make, not God.  God’s will for us is to walk in the fullness of His image and His likeness, which includes His power and His authority.  That is His will for us.  The challenge is, we must choose His will for our lives.  This author clearly demonstrates this truth in every line and verse.  As you read, you can get a visual snapshot of the process of becoming one with God.  It only requires a decision on your part.

     This is an incredible truth that many women and men in the body of Christ often miss. 

“God is in control”.  There are many in the body of Christ who uses this phrase loosely.  The shocking truth is, God has given that authority and responsibility to you.   “Choose ye this day whom you will serve, Joshua 24:14-15.  So much of our lives are spent trying to please and satisfy others, with not enough time given to reverence the one who've made our lives possible.  To choose God’s choice for ourselves is the assurance of peaceful rest in our lives. God’s choice for us is wrapped in His name and in all His many promises that are spelled out in His Will.  As you read Poetic Psalm, you will be encouraged to choose God’s choice for your life.

      When we've come to that point of no return, and we choose to permit our will to line up with God’s Will for our lives, then we can truly personalize the 23 Psalm.

The Lord is my Shepherd in Relationships 

Insight: When God becomes Lord; our relationship with him sets the tone for all other relationships in life.

If you are willing and obedient to listen to him; then you are ready to submit to authority and leadership

with God’s favor. Otherwise, rebellion and pride will not allow harmony or agreement with anyone;

no matter how anointed you are.
 

In Relationships 

Lord I allow you to be my covering and shield

I want my relationships to be just honest and real

I so desire to express your love and not the hurt I feel

So I surrender my spirit, soul and body as I kneel

 
I take in your Lordship and I embrace your love

I receive your death, resurrection and ascension above

Receive my broken-ness and touch me with gentle care

I long to be held close to you and know you are near

Fill me with substance of which I have never known

Fill the parts of me that have been hidden for so long

Fill and restore the paths where I have strayed wrong

You give me reasons to live and sing you a love song
 

I make you my Lord today and for the rest of my life

I choose to renew my mind and have the mind of Christ

I choose to love you more and more and more each day

For you are My Lord; You my Truth; You are my Way
