"The woman who leads by preparing has the heart of a teacher. The minute she gains a skill, she wants to give it away by training someone else. She may be very accomplished in her field but her real delight is training and equipping others. She never minds when her pupils pass her on the professional ladder. In fact, she expects it and rejoices in it. Pricilla had the heart of a preparer(Acts 18:24-28)." Q. Esther Pinkston

Fight Against AIDS Stigmatization in New York City

NEW YORK — While it has been 30 years since the first HIV/AIDS identification was made in the United States, disease-related stigma continues to present barriers to optimal prevention, testing, treatment, and care. To combat this stigmatization, Crucial Arts Productions, Inc. (CAP) is using the documentary filmMiss HIV by EthnoGraphic Media (EGM) as the cornerstone for a unique, four-day initiative in New York City.

The MISS HIV NYC Film Festival begins on December 1, 2011, coinciding with this year’s observance of World AIDS Day. Crucial Arts is planning for as many as 100 Miss HIV screenings across the greater New York City area over a four-day period.Miss HIV is an award-winning documentary by director Jim Hanon and producer Mart Green that brings into the open the little-known struggle for dominance over AIDS education and prevention. Narrated by Della Reese,the film exposes the heated rhetoric, high stakes, and the heavy toll this battle has taken.

EGM president Bill Oechsler states, “The MISS HIV NYC Film Festival is a significant grassroots effort. We admire the visionary leadership of Crucial Arts and others willing to tackle this critical issue in such a creative way.Miss HIV is a film that shines a spotlight on the competing agendas that often complicate an already complex global crisis. By design, the film brings a greater awareness and sensitivity to these issues. It also prompts open and honest dialogue that can lead to positive action.” Says Carmen Neely, Crucial Arts Productions’ executive director, “The fight against stigmatization of HIV/AIDS is not just our fight—it’s a global one. Honest, thought-provoking films like EthnoGraphic Media’sMiss HIV from are effective weapons in our campaigns.”

The primary audience for these screenings will be 16-to-35-year-olds as well as key influencers i.e., educators, health professionals, religious leaders, and community leaders. Daytime and evening film screenings ofMiss HIV are being scheduled. Specific details will be posted on www.MissHIVNYC.org. Immediately following each screening, a diverse panel will take part in a Q&A session with the audience.

Amu Ptah is the official spokesperson for the MISS HIV NYC Film Festival. She is the co-executive director and chief development and program officer for Positive Health Project (PHP). A native New Yorker living in Harlem, Amu has devoted the last dozen years to HIV prevention and education. “I am honored to serve in this endeavor,” Amu said. “Miss HIV brings the continual struggle for dominance over AIDS education and prevention to the forefront where it needs to be.”

EthnoGraphic Media is an educational non-profit organization that explores the critical issues of our time. As a community of artists and filmmakers, EGM uses media to tell true stories of hope and compassion in the midst of suffering and strife. EGM believes that gaining a deeper understanding of the human condition inspires positive action. Other film projects include Little Town of Bethlehem,The Grandfathers, End of the Spear, and Beyond the Gates of Splendor.

Crucial Arts is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to support, produce, and promote performance and visual media that celebrate diverse artists and artistry of people of color. Our primary focus is presenting documentary films with alternative perspectives that expose the roots of current socio-political issues. Hello Kingdom Women and Leaders,

If you have accomplished all you set out to do; listen up!

The next phase of your life has to have a breakthrough.

If not, life will begin to regress and old trouble along with it.

Plan. Plan time alone to get the blueprint for the next season.

Allow time to heal from the battle - get alone with God and listen to Him.

Stay encouraged as your journey begins again with new energy, in Him.

Play Acting Games...

Posted by njourdan on July 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM Comments comments (0)

Hello Kingdom Women Leaders,

How often do we encounter those who pretend and smile while plotting all along to rob something from us?

He or she lingers around long enough to gain an advantage - just before exposing the big big surprise! Usually the same thing "everyone" has been warning about, ha!

I know, I know, we (always) want to give the benefit of trusting and empowering others. Giving people the chance and the opportunity to face up; come and tell us themselves....the whole truth: no matter how bad it may be...

However, once again we place ourselves on the frontline to support and encourage and help empower (unconditionally)....Just to be "back - slapped" by the very same "VICTIM." .....who now makes us look and feel much like a victim, too.

Not to worry. Take a deep breath and remember you are never alone.

  • Release the hurt and damamge intended to destroy or deceive.
  • Give it "No Power!" Take the (appropiate steps of action) if you so desire as needed.
  • Reclaim your freedom to choose to help (any one else). It is not your fault - Do not beat your-self up over it.
  • Grow and Learn from the encounter....
  • Live! Live on pass the pain and disappointment, In Him.

There is a difference. What you do everyday makes a difference to God and others that He sends across your path. You are not accountable for the actions of other people; especially when you know you have done (everything) possible to reach out and help them.

God looks at how we respond when tothers mistreat us. He looks at you and me to choose love so He can step in to help.

Here is one of my quotes to address the problem:

"Acting lazy, blind and deaf to take advantage of others is the opposite of living the abundant life, in Christ. Choose Love, ha!"   Nikki Jourdan

Remember...7 Forms of Abuse

Posted by njourdan on May 10, 2011 at 8:57 AM Comments comments (1)

Greetings!

My posts are designed to embrace, encourage, and help empower.

Do share your comments and know that you are loved,valued and so appreciated. Feel free to share the topics with your friends.Thanks!

Today, let us explore the different forms of abuse so you, I, and everyone may know and recognize them. Please, please share the information...you never know who may need to read it and be set free!

Remember, we are not here to shame, blame or point the finger. Rather, to embrace, help teach (so we all can make better choices); and empower more lives, including our own.…(smile).

Areyou Ready?……………………………………Let’s Ride!   “voooom!”

Here is my plain and simple down-to-earth definition of abuse:

Abuse is the improper use of power by one person to cause (damage, harm or loss) of another person or group of people.

HOW?  It can occur: in homes as child abuse or domestic violence; in workplaces as sexual or racial harassment; in church organizations as manipulative power control, and in governments (leadership) as arrogant disregard for the needs of disadvantaged persons in the community, state or country.

There are many forms of abuse:

SEVEN RECOGNIZED FORMS OF ABUSE

1.PHYSICAL VIOLENCE

Striking, punching, pushing, shoving, pinching, biting, throwing objects,smashing precious collections and personal property.

2.SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Forcedor tricked hurting, forced and unwanted forms of sex;

forced rape, forced oral sex, forced sodomy, forced pornography and causing thehabit of masturbation.

3.VERBAL VIOLENCE

Shouting,rage, put downs, comparisons with previous spouse or partner; target low-selfesteem, insecurity, profanity and sarcasm. Saying words to hurt, kill, stealand destroy  lives.

4.SOCIAL VIOLENCE

Isolationfrom friends and family; confining to house, smothering, constant telephoningto check up on another; and jealousy that leads to emotional bondage.

5.ECONOMIC VIOLENCE

Keeping a spouse or partner poor; spouse/partner has to ask for essentials; keepingtotal control of finances; unhealthy relationships; starvation or extremepunishment to control all forms of finances coming in the home or relationship.

6.SPIRITUAL ABUSE

Selective use of scriptures, e.g. “Wives be submissive to your husbands,”

without regard to its context, namely; “Submit yourselves to one another” and“husbands love your wives…” or “church abuse,” where leadership have completecontrol over members based on fear and manipulation; extreme control. For example: Member are told not to visit other churches; told when they can go on vacation; told how to dress; told how to wear their hair; told whom to marry; etc. They dictate and limit your life from normal daily routine by keeping you in church activities all day and all night; or have you available on call every day or week; without regard to your family, marriage, business or job. You become married to church activities and events to the point of neglecting spouse, children and home.

7.MENTAL ABUSE

Emotional abuse and neglect: severe anxiety, depression and withdrawal; harmful influences of pornography; starvation; criminal behavior, substance abuse; trauma or unstable home life in various ways.

Note: These different forms of abuse frequently occur together and they are often hidden within the family structure of both Christians and non-Christians households.

Help is available. Do you see you or a loved one on this list?

People grow up not knowing what on earth happened (long time ago), that still influence the way they think and behave today.

Until next time,

“ChooseLove. It looks good on you.” ™

How Miracle 2 Works

HOW DOES Miracle 2 WORK?

1. Miracle 2 has a twofold purpose, to ALKALINEAND OXYGENATE the body INTERNALLY and EXTERNALLY. The first component is thesoap, an all natural combination of electrically formulated water and minerals.

Learn Obedience

Posted by njourdan on January 28, 2011 at 10:16 AM Comments comments (2)

I, too, had to learn Obedience. And still learning as we speak, ha!

My life today is not perfect if you were to look more closely, however,

I choose to agree with God.

I deal with much of the same things as you and everyone else in life.

[God has taught me to Agree with Him by speaking the word of God as though

what I am praying for has already come to pass].

It is much like being a child looking for a Birthday Present.

Only we are fully grown and God is the one that Promise the Gift.

Do we believe Him or not??? Yes, we believe Him.

He has a great tract record. He is always faithful. He always tell the truth.

The devil, our real eneny,  is a liar and master deceiver.

So, we choose to override doubt and choose to believe our God.

Use our imagination (much like a child) to dream orday dream about the good life.

The abundant life Christ has already provided for each of us.

Life as a believer and worshiper is not just a bunch of rules and formulas to keep or memorize.

It is doing one thing - One Commandment: Love. Love God, people and your-self.

Love changes and transforms us into the very image of Christ. It is done by real fellowship day-to-day.

It is doing the little things we all do (to and for) other people. How we treat them is exactly how we treat God! Jesus! Holy Spirit!.

What we sow is what we reap.

For example: If I were to fast, pray and do (all) the right things - But continue to allow my temper, my tongue, unforgiveness, worry, strife, complaints and everything gone bad (become first place); I would be defeated.

But, when I see what is happening and repent (change my mind), I  begin to apologize, and think very hard (with God in first place) to say and do only what would bless, build up or encourage:

I am victorious in Christ based on (my choice) to be a (doer) of God's word and not just a hearer.  To obey God is better than to sacrifice time and effort to impress anyone, ha!

You, too, can learn to respond rather than react to everything in life.

Be obedient to do what you know is pleasing to God, first. He will do the rest.

Agree with God no matter what; He backes his word.

Love and appreciate you! In Him.

Psalm 25: Trust in God

Posted by njourdan on January 25, 2011 at 9:26 AM Comments comments (0)

Greetings Kingdom Leaders!

Today is a good day to focus on God.

Do your best to shut out any distractions.

Psalm 25 (Message)

1-2 My head is high, God, held high; I'm looking to you, God;

   No hangdog skulking for me.

 3 I've thrown in my lot with you;

   You won't embarrass me, will you?

   Or let my enemies get the best of me?    Don't embarrass any of us

   Who went out on a limb for you.

   It's the traitors who should be humiliated.

 4 Show me how you work, God;

   School me in your ways.

 5 Take me by the hand;

   Lead me down the path of truth.

   You are my Savior, aren't you?

 6 Mark the milestones of your mercy and love, God;

   Rebuild the ancient landmarks!

 7 Forget that I sowed wild oats;

   Mark me with your sign of love.

   Plan only the best for me, God!

 8 God is fair and just;

   He corrects the misdirected,

   Sends them in the right direction.

 9 He gives the rejects his hand,

   And leads them step-by-step.

 10 From now on every road you travel

   Will take you to God.

   Follow the Covenant signs;

   Read the charted directions.

 11 Keep up your reputation, God;

   Forgive my bad life;

   It's been a very bad life.

 12 My question: What are God-worshipers like?

   Your answer: Arrows aimed at God's bull's-eye.

 13 They settle down in a promising place;

   Their kids inherit a prosperous farm.

 14 God-friendship is for God-worshipers;

   They are the ones he confides in.

 15 If I keep my eyes on God,

   I won't trip over my own feet.

 16 Look at me and help me!

   I'm all alone and in big trouble.

 17 My heart and kidneys are fighting each other;

   Call a truce to this civil war.

 18 Take a hard look at my life of hard labor,

   Then lift this ton of sin.

 19 Do you see how many people

   Have it in for me?

   How viciously they hate me?

 20 Keep watch over me and keep me out of trouble;

   Don't let me down when I run to you.

 21 Use all your skill to put me together;

   I wait to see your finished product.

 22 God, give your people a break

   From this run of bad luck.

Stay Encouraged. Choose Life. Choose Love.

How To Respond to Trials

Posted by njourdan on December 17, 2010 at 1:08 AM Comments comments (1)

Before you decide that your life is so bad, so damaged, so out of control until it is not worth living...Wait! You are in “Position for Greatness!”

Please, do not check out of life, just yet. Take a look at biblical history and see if, indeed, you can relate.

Think of your present trials and see if you can learn to respond in a way that makes you victorious, in Christ. Yes, you (your blessed self) are being trained right where you are to be used for the Kingdom of God.

For example: Can you be trusted, yet?

Can you keep your word, yet?

Are you reliable, yet?

Can you keep your mouth, closed, yet?

See, there is always room for improvement!

Can you obey God's Voice?

Do you know His Voice? ...Can you return the tithe or give offerings,

without complaining, yet?

Are you willing to do whatever God tells you, even if it makes you look weird or foolish to others, yet?

Keep this handy and refer to it often.

Are you in a pit? Have you reached rock bottom? Is your present condition the very lowest it has ever been?

Do you feel as though you have fallen from Grace or as if God has forgotten you? If you are in a pit - There is a prison ahead! Oh, it may not be an actual prison cell with bars – but the hidden bondage of the mind and heart…

Are you in a Prison? There is a Palace ahead! A wealthy place in God.

Are you in a Palace? There is a Lost World ahead!

Are you in the World? There is Salvation ahead!

Are your sins washed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus? There is a call and purpose on your life!

Answer the Call and begin to be who, what, when, where, how and why [God] the Holy Ghost lives within you!!!

Trials! Trials! Trials! Growth! Growth! Growth! Victory! Victory! Victory!

Remember: You can have faith in God, however, you can never pray away what you must overcome. And you can never overcome the thing that requires prayer and fasting and self-control and expectation and faith and action.
